I am a member of the Patriot Guard Riders group. This paticular day, we were at Busch Stadium honoring 3 soliders who had lost limbs during combat. We were allowed to walk out onto the field where the St. Louis Cardinals play. There is nothing quite like seeing flags waving & hearing cheers.

My daughter asked, “Is Jesus a girl?” I replied, “No.” “Why he has long hair?” she probed. I said, “Jewish men had long hair.” “How come he’s wearing a headband?” she prodded (referring to a billboard of Jesus wearing a crown).

I was dragged to the beach in the wee hours of the morning, grumbling all the way. As we settled down on the coastline, I saw it: a blazing inferno rising from the ocean, slowly illuminating the world. I was mesmerized by this majestic sight; the best sunrise I’ve seen in my 20 years of existence.

Even though it was packed with bored tourists, and even though I am an atheist, walking into the Sistine Chapel was a soulful cultural experience. Made me tremble! TMBA
